Do I need to complete a tax return?

Self Assessment is a legal requirement of anyone who is operating as a sole trader. HMRC (Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs) penalises any individual who fails to submit their tax return on time. Penalties in this area have significantly increased, for example, you may be fined £100 for being one day late, or £900 for being three months late.
